What does one do once they’ve created the second largest multi-billion-dollar cryptocurrency? The skinny hacker in a green Doge T-Shirt gave his answer today. At Ethereum’s most important conference, Devcon, project creator – Vitalik Buterin, stated that he has been secretly working a new long-term vision. It is said that it will change the Blockchain Network. The humble young hacker, said that he has a modest proposal, one that could be called a three or four-year road map for Ethereum’s future when it comes to technical development.

At the heart of the vision, is the long-in-the making of the new technical system. The change to Ethereum will be called sharding and it will be included in the new protocol’s plans. The plan that Buterin unveiled may just be the most solid strategy for the new process that has ever been developed.

As such, there could be some problems yet seen. They will need to be solved on the platform, and it puts an emphasis on scaling issues that project coders and developers will have to face and find a solution to. As of now, Ethereum nodes must store everything that has happened in the entire history of the network. Buterin also pressed that there is another need for the solutions. They alter and manage storage costs that would potentially be able to scale exponentially as the system grows.

It’s a topic that has been on the forefront of solutions needing to be solved. Buterin recently put out a new report and research papers into solving the problem. The talk was proof that he is pressing to find solutions to the problems. His efforts to press on the developers of Ethereum, to focus more broadly while putting in the effort. This could suggest that Ethereum is pressing against its limits.

More Details

Sharding could be the solution, according to Buterin. This is said to be a simple way for portioning data. It will be converted into subsets that take ideas from the original databases. The idea is in regard to single nodes. Each one will only need to store tiny chunks of data that all compose the entire network. The vision, is based around the underlying math and that it would be strong enough to keep the system accountable. Nodes would also be able to rely on other nodes for data as well.

The question that is in everybody’s mind, is how can nodes avoid sending false information to other nodes? Buterin is ready to release a new type of sharding, one that would be able to address the scalability issues and governance of the infrastructure. This is said to ensure that the eventual system is kept up, maintained and always kept in check.

All in all, sharding looks to be the most significant change that is being made to the next work over the span of the next few years. And Buterin also stated in conclusion, that there’s already a developer working on going into these areas of exploration.
